Enhanced Equalizer is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected, why, and how it is used.
Data We Collect
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers to serve personalised ads. Pro users see no ads.
Authentication (Google Sign-In / Firebase)
If you sign in with Google, we receive your display name, email, and profile photo — used only for cloud storage and community features. Never sold or shared.
Cloud Profile Storage (Firebase Firestore)
EQ profiles saved to the cloud are stored under your user ID in Firestore. Only you can read or modify your private profiles. Community-shared profiles are visible to all users.
Crash Reports & Analytics
The app does not collect analytics unless you explicitly enable "Privacy-Safe Analytics" in Settings. No personally identifiable information is included.
Data We Do NOT Collect
Your Audio
We never record or transmit your audio. All spectrum analysis is processed locally on your device.
Your Location
The app does not request or use location data.
Selling Data
We do not sell your data to any third party, ever.
Permissions Explained
RECORD_AUDIO
Required to analyse the audio stream for the spectrum visualizer. Audio is processed locally and never uploaded.
MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS
Required to apply equalizer effects to system audio output.
INTERNET
Required for ads, Firebase authentication, and cloud profile features.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Required to show the equalizer service notification while running in the background.
Profile Photo Picker
When you set a community profile photo, the system Android Photo Picker is launched. The app receives only the single image you choose — no broad photo or media permission is requested or granted.
Accessibility Service (optional, for Per-App Profiles)
If you enable Per-App Profiles, the app uses Android's accessibility API to detect which app is currently in the foreground so it can apply the EQ profile you assigned to that app. The service reads only the foreground package name (e.g. "com.spotify.music"). It does NOT read window content, text, passwords, or any other on-screen data. Audio is never recorded or transmitted. The accessibility service is opt-in — disabling it removes Per-App Profiles but does not affect any other feature.
In-App Purchases
Google Play Billing
All purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not store payment card details. Purchase receipts are verified via Google Play.
Children's Privacy
Age Restriction
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Google AdMob uses the Android Advertising ID (AAID) to deliver ads. You can reset it or limit ad tracking at any time from Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Pro users do not see ads and AAID is not used.
EEA, UK & Switzerland Consent
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the app shows a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) message — registered with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF v2.2) — before any ad request. You may choose personalised ads, non-personalised ads, or open Manage options to control individual purposes and partners.
Withdraw or Change Consent
You can change or withdraw your ad consent at any time from Settings → Privacy → Ad consent inside the app. Withdrawing consent stops personalised ads but does not remove non-personalised ads in the free version.
Cookies & Web SDKs
The app itself does not use browser cookies. Embedded ad SDKs may use cookie-equivalent local identifiers governed by the consent choices above and the partners' own privacy policies.
Your GDPR / EEA Rights
Data Subject Rights
If you reside in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the GDPR/UK GDPR grants you the right to: (1) access the personal data we hold about you, (2) request rectification of inaccurate data, (3) request erasure ("right to be forgotten"), (4) restrict or object to processing, (5) data portability in a machine-readable format, (6) withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing, and (7) lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data on the bases of consent (advertising, optional analytics), contract (in-app purchases, account features), and legitimate interest (crash reporting, fraud prevention).
How to Exercise Your Rights
Email mabolocleichristian@gmail.com with your request. We respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling deletion or export requests.
International Data Transfers
Data is stored on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure which may transfer data outside the EEA. Such transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and Google's adequacy framework.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
Your Rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA grants you the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share; request deletion of your personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; and not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
"Sale" and "Sharing" of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising activity (cross-context behavioural advertising via AdMob) may be considered "sharing" under California law. EEA-style consent and the in-app ad-consent toggle let you opt out at any time.
Submitting a Request
Email mabolocleichristian@gmail.com. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf, subject to verification.
Data Retention
Crash Logs & Analytics
Firebase Crashlytics retains crash data for up to 90 days. Optional analytics are retained up to 14 months (Google Analytics default), then aggregated/anonymised.
Account Data
Firebase Authentication records, Firestore profile data, and saved EQ presets are retained for as long as your account remains active. After an account-deletion request we delete account data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.
Purchase Records
Google Play Billing receipts and transaction metadata are retained as required by tax and consumer-protection law (typically up to 7 years).
Community Content
Profiles you publicly share to the community remain visible until you delete them. Deleted community content is removed within 14 days, including from backup copies.
